Foxes Book of Martyrs.
Written by John Foxe.

Martyrs are people who die for their faith. This book has got many, many stories of faith as people were burnt alive, beheaded, cut to pieces, drowned, fathers and mothers watch their children die, then they themselves die and all the imaginable tortures in the world.
This book starts at the stoning of Stephen and stops at the end of Bloody Queen Mary’s rein in England.
I would recommend reading this book without a finish date (taking as long as you have to – it can become very depressing) and not before bed! J Some of the things in this book are a little bit graphic and awful. But the Christians stood fast through the all, not many at all turned Catholic.
I recommend this book for 13 years and up.
