I would think that to keep yourself from false teachings is to study the Word to its utmost corners so that when the flase teachings come around you will have the knowlede to stand up to them. This is why mermorizing bible verses is good.  Also I would think waiting on the Lord, and praying earnestly and following His will, you will be so steadfast in your faith that a great storm of false teachings will not drag you from Him. Here are some bible verses I have collected on the subject:

Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. – Psalm 40:4

No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.
Psalm 101:7 (So stay in His prescence!)

I hate and abhor falsehood but I love your law.
Psalm 119:163

A false witness will perish, and whoever listens to him will be destroyed forever.
Proverbs 21:28

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. – Matthew 7:15

For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—if that were possible. – Mark 13:22

Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, – 1 Timothy 6:20

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. – 1 John 4:1

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. – 1 John 4:6
